The history of KEUCO
With a long history as market leader for bathroom accessories, today KEUCO offers a large range of fittings, accessories, mirror cabinets, washbasins and bathroom furniture. Throughout its history, the company has always been driven by a tireless quest to continuously improve and an eagerness to apply excellence to new areas.
1879
The KEUCO group of companies has its beginnings in the founding of the TURK + BOLTE firm in Iserlohn.
1953
The Paul Keune & Co. KG. company is founded. In a production area of roughly 400 m2, six employees manufacture standard fittings for bathrooms.
1959
For the first time the company generates revenues of 1 million DM.
1960
Construction of their first own factory building.
1961
Development of DE LUXE, their first own series.
1962
Market launch of premium metal mirror cabinets.
1963
Start of internationalisation in Belgium.
1967
Development of the ELEGANCE series - with more than 40 million items sold it is the most successful series in the world.
1975
Luigi Colani develops the first revolutionary bathroom design in Germany with accessories, lights and mirrors from KEUCO.
1984
The company name Paul Keune & Co. KG becomes KEUCO GmbH & Co. KG.
1986
Takeover of the largest competitor TURK + BOLTE.
1988
Market launch of bathroom furniture.
1995
Takeover of the metal goods factory TWICK + LEHRKE in Gütersloh, market leader in Germany for mirror cabinets; new construction of the goods distribution centre.
2001
Inauguration of the KEUCO Design Forum and the Centre of Excellence for training merchants and tradespeople.
2002
Market launch of water-conducting fittings.
2003
Market launch of the Care range for accessible bathrooms.
2005
The first complete bathroom, EDITION 300 (fittings, accessories, mirror cabinets, washbasins and bathroom furniture).
2007
A study finds that KEUCO is among the best 100 employers in Germany.
2008
Takeover of the LUDEWIG firm in Bünde, manufacturer of furniture.
2011
Introduction of the successful EDITION 11 bathroom furnishings, designed by Dominik Tesseraux.
2012
Inauguration of the Technology Forum to provide technical product training for every area of KEUCO's expertise.
2015
Market launch of the innovative IXMO fittings series.
2016
In cooperation with TEAM 7, EDITION LIGNATUR is produced, a luxurious bathroom furnishing concept with furniture made of natural wood.
2018
For mirror cabinets and light mirrors, KEUCO makes use of LED modules developed in-house.
2019
With ROYAL MIDAS, KEUCO introduces a smart lighting concept for the whole bathroom.
2021
KEUCO’s production operates at three locations with approx. 500 employees and generates annual revenues of approx. 140 million euros.
2022
The design of the successful IXMO fittings is now also available for the washbasin and bidet, enabling: IXMO for all areas of the bathroom.
