KEUCO gives a modern ambience and home-like atmosphere to a comfort ward
To furnish its bathrooms, the Göttingen-Weende Protestant Hospital trusts quality made in Germany
The Göttingen-Weende Protestant Hospital is the biggest general hospital in southern Lower Saxony. Combining compassion and cutting-edge medicine, staff dedicate themselves day and night to the health and well-being of patients, making it a place where the focus on the person as an individual is paramount. In the new House 3 building, and in the new comfort ward in particular, this focus on the individual is also embodied in the surroundings. Here, patients are given the choice – regardless of insurance status – of defining the service and comfort that is best for them during the recovery process. The medical care is identical to other wards in the hospital.
With its 20 single and three double rooms, the new comfort ward offers an atmosphere of well-being for 26 patients. Looking out from the cosy room balconies as well as the roof terrace of the comfort ward – with lounge sofa and beach chair – there is a terrific panorama view of Göttingen. All rooms are tastefully outfitted, with particularly well-furnished bathrooms that combine a modern ambience with a familiar atmosphere. The handicapped-accessible bathrooms were furnished with fittings, accessories and cosmetic mirrors from KEUCO and offer patients much convenience along with stylish design.
Matching the colour schemes of the adjacent rooms, the spacious bathrooms are decorated in warm, natural tones. Two different KEUCO interiors can be found in the bathrooms: completely in lustred chrome or in matt black. The chrome and matt black surfaces beautifully compliment the sand-coloured tiles, radiating an accentuated and stylish ambience.
At the washbasin with its generous work space the IXMO FLAT single-lever washbasin mixer, the PLAN hair dryer, the iLook_move cosmetic mirror and the PLAN CARE sanitiser dispenser all present a harmonious picture. In the bathroom with matt black interior PLAN towel hooks augment the ensemble.
When a closer look is called for, KEUCO's iLook_move cosmetic mirror with fivefold magnification and surrounding LED illumination answers the need. The innovative hinge design allows use of the cosmetic mirror also while seated. In addition to height, the cosmetic mirror can be optimally adjusted to the sides and in inclination. Each bathroom is furnished with a PLAN stool, which is suitable for wet areas such as sitting comfortably in the shower.
In the handicapped-accessible wet area, patients shower with the innovative IXMO thermostatic mixer, which combines multiple functions in the smallest of spaces. Hand and head shower ensure perfect showering comfort. The AXESS railing system and grab bars provide a sense of security in the shower and help the occupant stand up when showering in sitting position. Also easy to reach while sitting: the PLAN shower basket with chrome surface, for all the necessary care products in the bathroom. In the bathroom with matt black interior, care products for showering can be found in a wall niche.
Even around the toilet the convenience and safety of the patient has not been forgotten. The PLAN toilet paper holder and grab bar are mounted at the ideal height. At the WC, handicapped patients can support themselves on the premium KEUCO AXESS drop down supporting rails, Design by Studio F. A. Porsche.
Of special note: When folded up, the attractive AXESS supporting rail lies extremely flat against the wall and is hardly recognisable as a supporting rail. But the solution is also beautiful and elegant to behold when folded down.
Aside from their timeless and luxurious design, with their clear contours and straight lines KEUCO products are also known for their cleaning-friendliness. With their modern furnishings the unusually spacious bathrooms in the comfort ward of Göttingen-Weende Protestant Hospital demonstrate how visually appealing safety and convenience can be designed.
