Nature as a model for bathroom design
WC of the senses in the Sauerlandpark Hemer furnished by KEUCO
KEUCO fascinated visitors to the Garden Show in Hemer (Landesgartenschau) with the "WC of the Senses". As the theme sponsor of the Garden Show, KEUCO handed over the public toilets in the Park of the Senses at the opening ceremony in 2010. This year, the "WC of the Senses" was completely renovated by the Sauerlandpark Hemer GmbH and local companies.
The architecture remained the same, but the installations, wall and floor coverings etc. were renewed. The design idea came from the Hemer-based company KEUCO, a manufacturer of high-quality bathroom sanitary products. Since its opening - at that time still as a garden show - the Sauerlandpark has been repeatedly equipped and supported by KEUCO with its specialist products.
From the outside, the facility blends into its surroundings with its wooden façade and green doors. From the inside, the design is again, a highlight in the public toilet sector. With the "WC of the senses", visitors to the Sauerlandpark can expect a public toilet facility that has been individually designed and staged by KEUCO aiming to appeal to the senses and emotions of park visitors. Colour and lighting effects play just as important a role as pleasant sounds and pictures of the nature.
The "WC of the senses" is located in the middle of nature, surrounded by many flowers and plants. The beehive is located nearby. The design continues through to the surroundings inside: a wooden floor and matching green wall tiles were chosen A glowing canopy of leaves, the twittering of birds, the tapping of a woodpecker and the rustling of leaves in the wind - the "WC of the senses" lives up to its name.
The WC for men, women and the disabled WC are fully equipped with KEUCO fittings, accessories, washbasins, lighting and mirrors. The disabled toilet also offers plenty of space for a baby changing table. Many visitors to the park, young and old, have already had the opportunity to enjoy the new design this summer.
